MUSIC FOR YOUNG CHILDREN
Neuroscientists and psychologists agree that music is the most impactful way to develop a young brain. MYC's program not only prepares students to be well-balanced musicians, but students also develop language/ literacy and math skills, creativity, and self-esteem.

MYC develops a strong bond as you join your child in their learning, play, and musical expression. Parent accompaniment and participation is crucial to the success of the program. The parent-child bond as a music team during lessons is deepened as you co-learn music concepts as well as material in fun and engaging ways. This bond carries on at home during daily practice and other family activities.

Learning to play is more than just fun, it provides children with a unique set of skills that will stay with them throughout their lives. MYC encourages your child to be more creative, inventive, imaginative, and expressive through our interactive system that engages parents as well as children.

CLASSES OFFERED
Sunrise- Ages 2-3, Sunshine- ages 3-4, Sunbeams- ages 5-6, Moonbeams- ages 7-9
This year we are offering September to May classes for Sunshine, Sunbeams, and Moonbeams. These classes are piano classes thatintegrate a comprehensive approach to music, including solfege/ singing, rhythm/ percussion, music theory, and composition. Classes are one hour each week, with one recital and one music fair. Current classes are on Thursdays at the following times. If these days or times don't work for you reach out and we will see what we can do! We could also open daytime classes for home-schoolers, just let us know if you are interested!
-Sunshine (3-4 yo)- 3:35-4:35 pm
-Sunbeams (5-6 yo)- 4:45-5:45 pm
-Moonbeams (7-9 yo)- 6:15-7:15 pm
- For Sunshine, Sunbeams, and Moonbeams the monthly cost is $88 per month;
-plus initial cost of $216.61 for registration and materials
-For families the first student is $216.61, and subsequent students are $175.35 if they are sharing materials

Sunrise is a 45 minute pre-keyboarding music class that runs for 10 weeks and is offered at different times throughout the year.

WHAT DO CLASSES INCLUDE?
Based around keyboard (piano) lessons, we include singing, creative movement, theory and rhythm ensembles, composition, sight-reading, games, and more. Our curriculum and program materials are specially designed and produced for the child's age and development, no matter what their learning style. MYC is the only early childhood method that integrates and actively uses Conservatory Repertoire and theory to prepare our graduates for their first practical and theory exam.

Children meet in small groups once a week for an hour accompanied by an adult (parent, guardian, or caregiver) who participates in the program. Each concept taught is introduced and supported through the four learning styles (auditory, tactile, analytical, and visual) to ensure that every child in MYC has the highest level of success in not only learning each concept but also being able to apply and manipulate that information as needed.
